The people are so friendly here.

Friday night we ventured out despite the snow and went to a club on the main strip. Now I am regularly amazed about how small the scene in San Francisco is – everyone seems to know everyone (just ask Amanda). Imagine what it’s like in Reykjavik. Let me first say this – everyone is smiling.

How many clubs or bars or restaurants have you been to where people seem to have some sense of privilege, as if they are somehow superior just by the mere act of being there? Well we apparently went to the “hottest” club in Reykjavik, and there was zero such attitude - everyone was just so cool! Smiles everywhere, and once the drinks had set in, people were super friendly with Jon and me. They would give us hugs on the dance floor, merrily sing along to the music, strike up conversation as we walked by, and of course, offer to buy us drinks. It was just a great vibe, so much so that I stayed out way too late for my 8:00 wake up time (6am); and so yesterday was a painful one. In fact as I write this two days later my head has still not yet returned to normal ;)
