It happened after I got off the train from Aguas Caliente to Ollantaytambo. It was early but I was already hungry again, so I decided to try to corn on the cob straight out of boiling water they sell all over the place. I passed by the maze of tourist buses, refused the calls for a taxi, and started the walk down the road to the main part of town.
So there I was, walking alone towards this village in the Sacred Valley, wearing a ridiculous pair of $5 pants I had to buy because my jeans were filthy from yesterday´s adventure, loaded down with my backpack and a bright woven bag I bought to handle the overflow, tourist buses streaming by, happily eating my corn on the cob.
What can I say? I prefer the regular bus.
